TRUST CHILDREN


This Trust is being run by a group of young adults who CARE.

No part of any donation received is used for administration costs. All administrative expenses are borne by committee members. Every penny that is donated reaches the children directly


Pragadeesh

Pragadeesh is the son of a fisherman.... and his dreams when he was 5 years old was to become a Doctor! He joined Gurukulam when he was 4 years old. Today - Pragadeesh is doing his 10th standard at Gurukulam. His dreams have changed over the years, but he is well on his way to becoming whatever he wants to be. And it is thanks to each and every one who supports Gurukulam, that children like Pragadeesh can dream of a future and have a chance to make it a reality. Read more about it at

Executive Committee Members

1. Alpa Shah

Alpa is an IT professional and has been associated with Trust Children for several years. When she was based in India, Alpa taught “spoken English” to the villagers of Panayur and of other neighboring villages of Chennai, India. Alpa has an engineering degree in Computer Science and is currently based in South Carolina, US.

2. Capt. Vivek Shanbag

An airline pilot by profession, Capt. Shanbag currently flies the Airbus A330 with Air India and also with Alliance Air in Chennai as “Chief Pilot, Chennai”. He brings a variety of administrative skills to the Executive Committee. Capt. Shanbag is a vivid sailing enthusiast in his spare time.

3. Dr Mythili Ravishankar

Based in Singapore, Dr. Ravishankar has been closely associated with Trust Children since its inception. She has been crucial in the development of the School infrastructure through various sponsors. She currently drives the Singapore Chapter of Trust Children and has spread the message of the Gurukulam School far and wide.

Dr. Ravishankar is a registered homeopathy consultant, who received her Doctorate in Homeopathy from the "British Institute of Homeopathy, UK. A former Indian Airlines professional, she believes in the philosophy that "Service to humanity is service to Divinity” and as such does free consultation for needy patients at free clinics run by the faculty.

4. Dr. Vandna Dharmar

Dr. Dharmar is a practicing dentist based in Leeds, UK specializing in the treatment of gum disease. Dr. Dharmar believes in caring and supporting underprivileged children and takes pride in the activities of TrustChildren. Her other interests includes reading and travelling.

5. Kishore Reddy

Kishore Reddy is a leading businessman and philanthropist based in Chennai, India. Mr. Reddy bring his considerable business acumen and skills to the administration of Trust Children. He is typically one of the “Go Getters” for the trust. He is also an office bearer of the "Royal Madras Yacht Club" and hopes to see quite a few proficient sailors from the Gurukulam School sometime in the near future.

6. Nitin Agarwal

Nitin got introduced to Trust Children as a volunteer during 2005 Tsunami relief and rehabilitation and has been associated ever since. Nitin loves interacting with children – in fact, his recent visit to Gurukulam school inspired him to write his first ever blog! (http://trustchildren.blogspot.com/2010/12/when-i-went-back-to-school.html). He is an IT professional presently based out of Boston, US and helps Trust Children manage its global web presence.

7. Ana Maria Carrasco Dura

Ana has been associated with Trust Children since 2016 and helps with all the sponsorship communications to individual and corporate "Education Sponsors". Ana currently teaches Spanish in Vietnam. She was previously Cabin Crew Training Instructor at GAL “Global Aerospace Logistics”, working for the UAE Air Force and Air Defense. Prior to that Ana worked as Cabin Safety Instructor in CAE Madrid Training Centre for 3 years, and 15 years in SPANAIR Airlines. She is passionate about providing good education to underprivileged children.

8. Victor Kalimuthu

Victor Kalimuthu is an entrepreneur and angel investor involved in pharmaceutical and healthcare IT. Currently based in Singapore, he hopes to contribute in a meaningful way to society through his work at Trust Children. Mr. Kalimuthu believes in the Confucian principle – “Tell me and I'll forget; show me and I may remember; involve me and I'll understand” – and hopes to share his philosophy of empowerment with the children at Gurukulam. His hobbies include travelling and reading.
