Pragadeesh

Pragadeesh is the son of a fisherman.... and his dreams when he was 5 years old was to become a Doctor! He joined Gurukulam when he was 4 years old. Today - Pragadeesh is doing his 10th standard at Gurukulam. His dreams have changed over the years, but he is well on his way to becoming whatever he wants to be. And it is thanks to each and every one who supports Gurukulam, that children like Pragadeesh can dream of a future and have a chance to make it a reality. Read more about it at

Natasha Hi, my name is Nitish Dharmar. I’m 17 years old and am in my 1st year of A Levels in UK (XII as in India). I love the outdoors and spend a lot of my time playing sports. I am an avid tennis player and love taking to the slopes practising skiing and snowboarding. I am an Explorer Scout and consequently spend a lot of time on camps and expeditions away from home.

My first visit to Trust Children was 2 years ago where I met a young group of Karate champs practising for a state tournament. I was pleasantly surprised that they could fluently continue a conversation in English, and was even more impressed by the quality of the answers given. They weren’t just ‘yes or no’ but long developed answers. I saw the school and met the teachers and that really opened my opens to the hard work and generosity that is being done in India.
Last year I was in Chennai for a week and in my own way I thought I could develop a conversational English lesson for these kids. May be this idea could be developed further as it seemed successful. Although it is a hard balancing act between my studies and other activities that I am involved in, it has been a pleasure tr

Later that year I decided to create a Facebook page to raise Trust Children‘s awareness. From then on I have been trying to keep the page up to date with the latest photos, videos and news from Gurukulam. So the rest of the world can know what is happening as it happens in India and that the work taking place does not go unnoticed.

The page http://www.facebook.com/TrustChildren will hopefully attract members of the public to take attention and maybe even help Trust Children to expand and grow.
